WORKSHOPS – A full season of awesome workshops is in the works!  Check our WORKSHOP PAGE frequently for updates!

Recruiting NEW Volunteer FOH Managers!

We are recruiting new Front Of House Managers to join our FOH team!
Typical commitment is 2 to 3 performances per production (with the option to opt out if necessary of course!)

The Front of House Manager takes the lead in the box office selling tickets and works with the Stage Manager to make sure the evening runs smoothly.  The FOH Manager needs to remain in the lobby for the duration of the show, however, you also receive 2 complimentary tickets, so you can view the show when you are not working!  Ideal candidates would be comfortable navigating computers, using Excel, Outlook and counting money, as well as good communication & organization skills.

skin-flick-smOur new volunteers will get their feet wet with our upcoming production, Skin Flick, Feb 3 – 18, 2017, in the Joyce Doolittle Theatre at the Pumphouse Theatre.

This is a reunion production, bringing back together the cast and crew from our January 2010 production.

When Elwood P. Dowd, a good-natured, mild-mannered eccentric, starts to introduce his imaginary friend- Harvey, a six-and-a-half-foot rabbit- to guests at a society party, his sister Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behaviour as she can tolerate. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter, Myrtle Mae, and their family from future embarrassment.
Problems arise; however, when the doctors commit Veta instead of Elwood, but when the truth comes out, the search is on for Elwood and his invisible companion.

Do you have the Direct Stuff?

Morpheus Theatre is seeking experienced and passionate directors for our 2018/2019 season!

We present 4 quality shows each year (a farce or comedy, a Christmas family production/pantomime, a contemporary play, and a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta) at the Pumphouse Theatre, in both the Victor Mitchell & Joyce Doolittle Theatres.

Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest and a resume with related theatre experience/background to info@morpheustheatre.ca.  Applicants do not need to submit for a specific show.

APPLY TO DIRECT
* Name of director
* Directing and theatre related experience
* Types of shows applicant is interested in directing
* Rehearsal Time Availability
* If submitting for a specific show- Director’s Vision for the show (including overall thoughts about how it would be staged & any special effects, set ideas, costume ideas, technical considerations)

We also invite the community to make proposals for shows to be produced during our 2018/2019 season.

We are looking for WELL-KNOWN SHOWS with HIGH AUDIENCE POTENTIAL that fall within our four show categories.  Ideally, the shows will appeal to a wide family audience (primarily 12 and up, although under 18 is not the target audience).

SUGGEST A SHOW
* Title & Playwright of show
* Cast size of show, with male/female breakdown
* Why you think Morpheus should produce it
* Which theatre it would work best in
* Potential challenges

Morpheus Theatre thanks everyone for their submissions, however, only candidates being considered for this season will be contacted.  If you suggest a play that we accept, you will receive two free tickets to see that production.

Please email letters of interest by December 31, 2017 to:
