Rich with humour and the bittersweet realities of a time gone by, The Mail Order Bride is a vivid, moving, and often surprising evocation of the true nature of family and love. Come join us this harvest season, as an old farmer remembers the life of his neighbour and her family.

Written by Alberta playwright Robert Clinton, this play looks at the history and realities of life on the prairies. Winner of the Alberta Playwriting Competition and the Alberta Writers Guild Drama Award.

This cast will require 7 actors age 20 to 55 years.

Characters:
Harold English – Farmer/narrator, aged 35 - 55
Charlotte Emery-Teeter – Mail order bride, aged 25 – 35
Art Milligan – Travelling salesman, aged 25 – 30
Rachel Teeter – Adventurous daughter of Charlotte, aged 20 – 25
Charles Teeter – Farmer husband of Charlotte, aged 30 – 40
Russell Teeter – Son of Rachel, jet pilot, aged 30, more or less
Eva Teeter – Wife of Russell, aged 25, more or less

N.B. Several characters change ages as the play moves between 1908 and 1954.

Rehearsals will be held on weeknights over the summer. There will be no rehearsals on the weekend until Late August.
