Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? > > > January 11 - 26, 2008
A Drama by Edward Albee Directed by Bill Torrie this show will feature Donna Barnfield as Martha, Greg Speilman as George, Aaron Conrad as Nick, and Alison Wandzura as Honey. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is one of the most emotionally challenging play of our time. It is not for the faint of heart (both from the actor and audience point of view). It is the story of George and Martha, two of the most famous roles ever written for the stage. Over the course of one wickedly hilarious evening, the cocktails come out and the gloves come off as this riveting duo takes their two young guests on the ride of their lives. The New York Times raves it's "one helluva fight. Theatergoers who attend this pulse-racing new production are destined to leave feeling like winners." Written in 1962, the Tony Award winning play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is a brittle, darkly comic look at marriage and relationships. George and Martha have been married 23 years. George, a professor at a small college, and his wife, Martha, have just returned home, drunk from a Saturday night party. Martha announces, amidst general profanity, that she has invited a young couple – an opportunistic new professor at the college Performances at the Pumphouse Theatre |
