G&S Singers Program Description

Morpheus G&S Singers Mandate
The mandate of the Morpheus G&S Singers is to provide a venue where those that have an interest in learning the music of Gilbert and Sullivan can join together and form a chorus and, under talented leadership, take the music of Gilbert and Sullivan out to the wider community both as a chorus and as cast in the annual Morpheus G&S productions.

The Morpheus G&S Singers

The Singers have been enjoying old favourites as well as tackling some challenging new repertoire. This is a fabulous group for both experienced singers as well as folks who are completely new! It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about singing, and discover the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, especially if you’ve ever thought of auditioning for the Morpheus Spring show. All are welcome to join, rehearsals are 7:00 to 8:30 PM Sunday evenings at the Morpheus Rehearsal Centre.  We do not rehearse on the Sundays of long weekends.

Fees are $5 per week or $50 for the season, payable online (Select Morpheus G&S Fees from the drop down menu) or at rehearsal (cash & cheque only).

welcoming_g_scharLaunched in September 2000, the Morpheus G&S Singers are a group of people that gather together weekly to learn and sing the wonderful songs from the operas of William S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan.  We also take a little time during the Christmas season to learn some of the wonderful carols written by Sullivan.

The Morpheus G&S Singers have existed primarily to serve as an outlet for any and all that wish to sing the songs of Gilbert and Sullivan.  There are no auditions and no attendance requirements.  The sessions are mostly drop in style, with people coming to the rehearsals as their schedules allow.

Anyone that would like to request a performance by the Morpheus G&S Singers can contact Tim Elliott through the Morpheus office at 403-246-2999.  Though the fee is generally $100.00, this may be waived depending on the circumstances.
