A Comedy of Tenors

September 29th to October 7th, 2023
By Ken Ludwig

For the first time we are presenting a sequel. It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century – as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife, Maria, from causing runaway chaos. Prepare for an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.  This farce brings us 4 of the same characters that you loved in Lend me a Tenor.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A live radio play

December 8th to 16th, 2023
A staged radio play by Joe Landry

Based on the classic film by Frank Capra. An inspirational, heartwarming story about giving and receiving, about life and all the paths we walk, about true and lasting love and guardian angels. Morpheus Theatre very proudly welcomes you to Bedford Falls with this holiday favourite, presented from the perspective of a radio show cast with a live studio audience, and live foley sound effects.

The Peacock Season

February 2nd to 17th, 2024
By Otis Bigelow

The play is set in 1908. Having made the mistake of marrying for love, Clarke and Cora Mariner are reminded upon renewed acquaintance with their former sweethearts, of all the riches their foolishness has denied them, and the simultaneous thought occurs to them that perhaps it’s not too late to try again. But, as divorce is unthinkable in their circle, murder appears to be the only answer, whereupon they try to do away with each other; their diabolical plans goes awry to the extent of nine unintended victims. Suffice it to say that the police are as inept as the murderers, and all ends in as stylishly, and as charmingly bizarre, a fashion as it began.

The Gondoliers

April 26th to May 4th, 2024
A comic operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan

It is with all the necessary and appropriate pomp, that we announce, pronounce and soundly declare, our final show of the season will be: Gilbert and Sullivan’s, The Gondoliers! This 12th collaborative operetta by the beloved pair is set in Venice and is rife with Nobility, mistaken identities, Royalty, young lovers married to the wrong people, commoners, wit, patter, a Cachucha and of course, Rapture!

Sylvia

January 12th – 27th, 2024
By A.R. Gurney
A Co-Production with Scorpio Theatre

Greg is a man of middle age, a restless empty-nester tired of his job in finance and looking for meaning in his life. Sylvia is an exuberant lab/poodle mix, astray and looking for a new home. When they meet at the park it is love at first sight!

But Greg’s wife Kate is looking forward to some independence now that the couple no longer has children to care for, and is less than thrilled by the clever and coquettish canine who jumps, slobbers, sits on her couch, and takes Greg’s attention away from his marriage. A touching and hilarious love story!

The Rocky Horror Show

April 5th – 13th, 2024
Music, Lyrics & Book by Richard O’Brien
A Co-Production with Misfit Theatre YYC

Join Misfit Theatre YYC and Morpheus Theatre as we take you on a science-fiction, double feature journey through Richard O’Brien’s iconic rock-n-roll musical. A hilarious, campy, and thrilling tribute to the sci-fi and horror B films from the golden age of Hollywood to the 1960s, “The Rocky Horror Show” tells the tale of a recently engaged couple and their wild misadventure. While on their way to visit an old friend, they find themselves with a flat tire and nowhere to go in the middle of a stormy night, until they find an old castle seemingly in the middle of nowhere. What starts as a trip to ask for help, turns into a topsy-turvy evening of the strangest events where they are subjected to bizarre whims at the hand of a fabulously dressed mad scientist and his servants. Will our intrepid couple make it out unscathed, or will the darkness completely transform them?
